open new video in older software

Hey Everyone

I started making a video in the premier elements 2018 free trial. After getting most of it done, I realized I had access to the full 2015 premier elements version. When i try to open my video in the older premier elements, I get a message saying that an unknown error occurred while opening the project. I have no special effects in my 2018 video. All I did was cropping of many videos. If possible, I would like to continue my editing in the full 2015 version of the software.

Any idea how I can open this new video in the older software paid version?

    I don't have good news for you.

    Premiere Elements is not backward or forward compatible between versions.   That has never been a design goal or criteria.  There are no viable options other than starting over. 

    If you have a significant amount of time and work invested, it may pay to buy the new version.
