Organizer Issues

Hi all, posting to the Premier Elements since I was unable to locate an Organizer forum. Apologies if this is the wrong spot. I just purchased the Elements bundle to edit media I took on my vacations. I am experiencing instability with the Organizer when I try to import my media library of photos and 4K videos. At random points of the bulk import process, Organizer either crashes completely with no error message or stops responding. During the import process, I noticed that my memory utilization increases gradually to my maximum memory of 15.9 GB. It appears to be a memory leak.

I've tried the following troubleshooting steps
 - rebooting
 - reinstalling
 - disabling intel HD graphics
 - Breaking up my 185 GB folder into more digestible pieces (This somewhat worked, but it kept crashing and now I'm seeking a more appropriate resolution)
Hardware:
- i7-7700k
- RTX 3060
- G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 2x8 GB DDR4-3000 CL15 Memory
- Boot drive: Samsung SSD 850 EVO
- Media drive: Western Digital, WD Blue WDS100T2B0C

1. Is this a software issue or hardware issue? Ideally I would like to have all my media in a single folder but even breaking the media up into multiple folders for piecemeal bulk imports doesn't work.

2.  I am currently download the media directly from my phone (which only now represents a portion of all my media data). If I decide to use this function again when I take new photos/videos, will the software know to not import duplicates that have been downloaded previously? And how good is Organizer at not indexing duplicates?

3. If I reorganize my media files, will Organizer not be able to find them? If so, do people just use Organizer as their main way of organizing and viewing photos? My video backlog is growing by a lot, with over 185 GB of media, including 4K video. Does Premier Elements handle 4K well or do I need the enterprise version?

4. The media preview function shows a gray box and play button for videos, is there a way to show a thumbnail?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't be of any more help. There's something choking somewhere.

You can try contacting Adobe Support via Chat. They make be able to figure out what's going on.

Thank you Steve for trying. Just providing an update in case someone else stumbles across the same issue. There is no solution. Adobe Organizer cannot process iPhone 12 footage and there is inherent incompatibility and instability. Photos work fine, so if you filter out videos you can have a photo library.

After troubleshooting for 15+ hours, spending additional money on more ram, and having multiple calls with Adobe - my case was eventually escalated to the senior support team.

When the senior suppor team finally reached out (they contact you and not the other way around for some reason), they informed me that there are known issues with using Adobe Organizer to import video footage from the iPhone 12 series phones.

It is very unfortunate that the core functionality of one of their products does not work for the flagship phone of the most popular phone manufactuer. Nor did the service representatives that I spoke to (before and after reaching out for help via the forum) know about the instability. Not a great look for a Adobe.

SSDs are great but due to the cost they are frequently small. Unlike SATA drives that are typically 1-3 terrabytes.

How full is your SSD? The Organizer is a bit of hard drive hog and it needs lots of breathing room. Even if your media is actually on another, larger drive.

It's rare for the Organizer to bug out and crash, in my experience. But a lack of C drive space could definitely cause it.

My C drive has 99 GB free out of 464 GB, and my media drive is 395 GB free out of 931 GB.

I'll do some cleaning on my C drive and see if that solves it.
