Organizer Slidewshow a few questions

When creating a photo slideshow from PSO, a few questions

1 - Is it possible to randomize the order of the pictures? I don't see an option to do that. I can manually rearrange them but that is tedius if I have many photos.

2- Is there any option to edit the slideshow after it is created? I can load the saved slideshow video in PRE and can see the video and audio tracks.  Is there a way I can look at the transitions or is that all just baked into the video?  The only options I see (for my expample video) are Motion and Opacity.

1.  I don't know of any way to randomize the order of files in an Organizer slideshow.  But you can create an Album for the photos you want to place in the Slideshow and easily switch the order there.  Or even change the order that you select the photos and then click the Slideshow button.  I believe the photos will appear in the order you select them.

 

2.  If you save the slideshow and then search your computer for the corresponding title you have given the slideshow, you will find a file with a .mcmemories file extension.  It should be in the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\[YOUR CATALOG NAME]\projects\ folder.  Copy this file and change the extension to .prel.  You can then open the .prel file in Premiere Elements.  This will give you the transitions and effects created in the slideshow but the actual content of the files refers to a proxy jpeg file and I have not yet discovered the location of those files or whether they are possibly temporary files that have been deleted. I assume that you can replace the jpg files with your actual files and since you may want to randomize the order of your slides, this workflow may work for you.

Greg's answers are spot on -- although I wasn't aware of the "hack' to open the slideshow in Premiere Elements.

 

The slideshow creator in the Organizer is actually a pretty cool tool, and it does create some nice slideshows out of both video and photos. I'm also not aware of a randomizer -- but then again, I kind of like having more control over my content.

 

But as a rule, once you output the slideshow from the Organizer and an MP4 and import that MP4 into Premiere Elements, it's just a video clip. With all due respect to Greg's solution above, it's best to do any further work on it in the Organizer rather than Premiere Elements.
