Adding Mp4 and getting video but no audio?

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot of the properties of your media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Handbrake to convert to constant frame rate:

Shutter Encoder may also be used to convert to Constant Frame Rate:

Check the Audio Hardware Preferences. Default Audio Input should be set to No Input.

It is set to No Input and still no audio.

Ah so sorry wrong program: no it does not apply to Elements.

The most common user error is not source patching the track.
Solved by first opening clip in Source Monitor. Then drag/insert into timeline.
