Performmance Issues with macOS Monterey and PE 2022

I just installed Adobe Premiere Elements 2022 and to be honest I'm shocked by the performance! Everything is jerky and sometimes takes seconds until something happens! Even Drag & Drop of some pictures to the timline is a mess.
I am using an iMac 27" 2020 with macOS Monterey 12.4, 40 GB RAM and SSD.
I do not need all the possibilities of premiere pro, so i bought PE 2022. But now i am very unhappy to have spent money for that....

Also the "Update-Button" is grey and cannot be used. The istalled Verion is 20220702.Git.mai.e4f8578...

It works very well for most, including me.  If you want to try to find out why it does not work for you, there may be help!

If you don't like the program, or will not perform as expected, you can have a refund within a month (only when bought through Adobe).

Why did you not try out the trial first?

I've been using LR and PS for years and these Apps worked well. Se I did not expect PE2022 to perform so badly ...
