Question

Premier Elements 14.1 cannot import MP4 files from GoPro 7

Today I did want to edit some GoPro 7 MP4 files in my Adope Premier elements 14.1. Operating system is Windows 10 Home - with all recommended updates.

When I try to import the MP4 media I do get hte error message "the importer recorded a generic error"

Any fixes, work arounds, updates or other things that could make my Premier Elements 14.1 work with GoPro 7 again?

Thanks

Lars W.

This is about Premiere Pro but it may also work for you

Convert GoPro to Cineform to edit https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/I-can-t-import-4K-video-from-GoPro-Hero-6-to-Premiere-Pro/td-p/9482788

Elements does not support Cineform

That's a relatively old version of the program. It's not going to deal well with H.265 video or 4K video at more than 30 fps.
