Premier Elemnts Not Backwards Compatible

I may have posted this already but not sure if it posted as there does not seem a way to view your posts but here it is again....

I recently installed Premier Elements 2020 on my new PC and have completed several projects successfully all my projects are stored on a shared hard drive however when I try to open a project made in version 2020 with version 2019 [edited by moderator- was 2029] on another PC if fails to open the project, is version 2020 not backwards compatible ?  old Projects made in older versions open in version 2020 no problem and can be worked on, however when an updated project is resaved in 2020 it will not open in older versions. Any one got any ideas on this one ?

No version of Premiere Elements is backwards compatible.

I assume that when you wrote 2029 in your original post that you meant 2019.

Hi Bob

Yes your right I ment 2019, I upgraded to 2019 on one PC then when I introduced a second PC to my network shortly after and purchased Premier Elements again to my surprise there was another upgraded version 2020 the idea being I could work on projects on either PC but It looks like I will have to purchase 2020 again to upgrade my 2019 version.

As long as you don't use them both at the same time, you are allowed to install and use on two computers with one license.
