PREMIERE DOESN'T RECOGNIZE DVD BURNER ON DELL DESKTOP

I need to use Premiere to put together a simple video project that contain two .mp4 files that were initially put together using iMovie so I can add a menu and burn the videos to a disc. Two problems have arisen:

1. Even though both files have a resolution of 1920x1080, the Premiere indicates I can only burn the project to an SD format of 720x480.

2. Premiere doesn't recognize my DVD (Blu-ray) burner

Thinking the problems might be related to the two iMovie files that I was using to make the new Premiere project, I put together a test project containing a couple of the origiinal clips that I used to make the two .mp4 videos in iMovie, added a menu, and got the same two problems described above.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

Also... a DVD is standard definition, so 720x480 is correct

As far as I know, no Adobe program will create/burn a BluRay disc due to licensing issues

I don't, but you should be able to export a 1920x1080 file, but it won't have a menu

If you can't burn directly to disc, are you able to create an ISO in your chosen format and then burn the ISO to DVD using other software?

I always create an ISO and use the FREE https://www.imgburn.com/ to write the ISO to disc (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program - DO be sure to uncheck anything you don't want from the download site) You may also use Imgburn for general backup of files or folders to disc

Thanks for the tip. I’ve been doing some further research and find this method has some advantages over the the way I’ve done it in the past using 3rd party dvd burning programs. I’m in the process of transitioning from using iMovie and iDVD on my old MacPro, so on first blush this didn’t seem to be anything more than a work-around to avoid the Adobe technical issue. I’ll try this tomorrow after downloading the imgBurn program.

You didn't say that in your 1st message... as far as I know ImgBurn is Windows only, so you will have to find a different program

Your title says Dell... so are you on Windows now?
