Premiere Element 15 not creating MP4 -H.264 files

Hi

Today I tried to create a MP4 video file in PE15 and it said it was successful (no errors)

When I check the resulting file, its 1KB !! and not usable.

Just before it finished the rendering process I checked the folder and it was approaching 9GB (40mins long)

Resolution: HD1080

Format: MP4 - H.264

Quality high

Other formats were fine, but is there a known defect with this option ?

thanks

    Some good news

I freed up some space on the drive (even though there was sufficient free space for 2 x the size of the output file) and the MP4 - H254 file creation was successful.

Odd that the previous failed instances were "successful" from the PE15 message.

    thanks for the pointers

Windows 7 does not update completely automatically. It only adds critical updates.

I recommend first going to Windows Update and manually adding ALL updates, including driver updates and non-critical updates. A number of these are updates to Visual C++ frameworks which can play a role in Premiere Elements video processing.

    Latest update:

    Disabled Firewall: same issue

    Disabled HW Acceleration: Same issue

Applied all recommended and optional windows updates: Same issue

Here are some screen shots, midway through a Export & Share (rendering video) process, we see the output files are being created

After an hour, the Process looks successful in PE15

But if we look at the output files now, its 1KB !

Will try installing quicktime and repeating

    thanks

Not by any means. In fact, this is the first I've heard of this. What operating system are you using?

Try going to the Preferences (under the Edit menu on a PC) and unchecking the option to use Hardware Acceleration. Then try your MP4 again.

If that doesn't work know that version 15 is the first version that isn't dependent on Quicktime components. And, in reality, it's still dependent on Quicktime for some functions.

Download and install Quicktime 7. If you are on a Windows computer, you can opt not to install Quicktime Player or you can disable the Player by changing the file's suffix. It's the other components you need.
