Question

Premiere Elements 1.0 doesn't list MOV as a supported file, despite the guide book saying it does.

Hello! I was trying to import an MOV file into Premiere Elements, but when I try to import the files it shows that MOV is not supported, despite the User Guide book listing MOVs as compatible. Is this an error with Premiere Elements? I really don't want to have to convert to WMV all the time.

I'm running Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 from the box set I bought years ago because I haven't updated from Windows 7 or XP yet.

As far as I know that ancient version requires Apple Quicktime to be able to work with MOV video

I have version 2021 (from 2 years ago) and since quicktime is no longer available due to security concerns I installed http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html which SEEMS to have installed the QT codec... at least I am able to edit MOV video without having to install QT

If you are able to find Quicktime I would NOT install it due to the security problems

Okay thanks! I'll just keep using WMV files instead.
