Premiere Elements 10 project corrupt

Hello,

I have Adobe premiere elements 10. Always had only that version and nothing else.

I have a project of like 10 years old that I need. I try to open it. It is loading to 100% and then I get the message that " this project is not compatible with the current version of Premiere Elements".

Why? I ever had only 1 version!

How to solve this?

Is there someone with a new version of Premiere element that might be able to open it and save it as version 10? Some other ideas?

I hope someone can help as there's been a lot of time invested in the file...

Best Regards,

Inge

Correct answer Ann Bens

Might have had only one version of Elements installed, but guessing you had many windows or mac updates meanwhile........

You cannot open a version 10 in a version 2024 and save it as a version 10.

MIght not open in a most current version either.

Sorry dont have any better news.

In the meantime I learned that old versions are not compatible with new versions and the other way around of course, so the solution should not be sought in that corner. Hopefully someone has other ideas but I have not a lot of hope...
