Question

Premiere Elements 12 total newbie & I don't want black title screens, please help!

I see so much advice about Colour Matt, but have achieved nothing more than changing the text colour of my titles - which I don't want to do.

I would like to have white text on a red background - can anyone please advise on how to do this, assuming I have zero knowledge of Elements 12, as I can't get past this first step?

Thank you in advance, your expertise is greatly appreciated.

Actually, it's an extremely user friendly program, once you learn where things are.

I'm still not clear on if you're asking for help or if you're just here to trash the program and are ready to move on. This is a user to user forum, by the way. Not Adobe. We're here because we love the program and want to help others.

Have you checked out my free 8 part Basic Training tutorial series on YouTube or Muvipix.com?

I came here for help after hours of trying to go it alone, and had received none hours later...

Having lost soooo much time on it, please understand that a 'two clicks of a mouse' comment is a teensy bit irritating!

I have used other programs that are far more user friendly, none of which have required an 8 part basic training course and I am currently disappointed with Premiere Elements for that reason.

Sometimes there are few ways to advise software firms of user difficulties, and this forum bears all Adobe's logos, (indeed is set within their own domain, and you yourself are an Adobe Community Professional), so yes in desperation after not getting any help, having read all other people's similar issues, and not finding the link to your course, I was trying to tell Adobe that their software is not all that for a beginner.

As my question title states - I'm a newbie and I will make time to watch your training course - thank you for that link.

Peace out.

Sorry, scratch this - it's so ridiculously difficult and counter-intuitive I think I'll stick with a free, out of date software package I already have so that I can get something done in half an hour rather than wasting days of my time on this...

Too bad you gave up so quickly. You could have resolved it with two clicks of the mouse.

So quickly?! After spending 1/2 a day on it I did manage to get a red background with white text - only to find that if I add another text box it over-writes the first, if I have the audacity to ask for more than 5 seconds on the title clip it all goes to hell and I'm back to a black screen, without my text until after the additional time is up,... I could go on, and on, and on about how un-user friendly this software is, but hey-ho - I'm guessing it's not aimed at someone like me ie someone who has only basic requirements of a software program to produce really quite basic instructional videos...
