Premiere Elements 13 keeps crashing when I click "add media"

I just bought a new PC (Windows 10) and installed Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements 13 (from my original program disks). Photoshop Elements 13 works fine.  Premiere Elements will launch fine, but as soon as I click the "Add Media" button the program immediately crashes. Any ideas?

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10 (and MAYBE Windows 11 ?)
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions

Sounds like something is missing.  Can you read any error codes?  It may be something that was assumed to be in the operating system back when 13 was current.   It may be something from the install disk that needs parts from the old operating system.   It is a guess, but maybe installing a trial of the newest version will put something on your system to help.  I am guessing blindly!!

It doesn't provide any error codes, the program just immediately shuts down once I click the "add media" button. I was running it no problem on my old PC which was also running Windows 10 and was current on Updates. Maybe I'll try a trial version as you suggest.

Have you found a fix for this. I just purchased a new computer and I am having the same issue. My new computer is runnung Windows 11 and trying to use Premiere Elements 13. Photoshop Elements 13 seems to be working fine.

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

Ok, just tried that. Nvidia GeForce MX110. Had June '20 driver, just updated from Nvidia site to the Nov '20 driver. Still crashes as soon as I click "Add Media."
