My Premiere version is 2021 and I'm on Windows.

I've been working on a project in 2018. I opened Premiere 21 today .

When I tried to open the project today i got the following message:

the file cannot be loaded, possibly damaged

I already tried to import the project to a new project but I get the same error.

I can't lose all my work! Please, I need help!

Premiere Elements can't import a project file from another project.  Premiere Pro can do that.

I've not encountered that. Can you re-load 2018 and try it that way? You
can always call them. I've had to twice and they were very helpful.

Premiere Elements is not backwards compatible. You can not open projects produced in older versions of the program with newer versions of the program. It's possible in doing so you've corrupted your project and now it won't open in either version.

But always complete your project in the version you started it in. Or, if you want to try to open it with a later version, make a back-up copy.

If you've lost a lot of work, we can suggest ways you may still be able to recover and finish your project in version 2018.
