All of a sudden I lost sound from all my premiere files.  I can here the mp3 files fine on my computer but when I put them into Premiere - no sound.  I went to preferences>settings> audiohardware and I have no input (none available to select) - have tried changing to every output available.  Still can't hear sond.  Can see it on the meters in Premiere - just can't hear anything

If you have a USB microphone plugged into your computer, unplug to see if that makes a difference.

But in any event, try different combinations of the settings under Audio Hardware Preferences. If you're not getting sound of any clips on the program, that's definitely where the issue lies.

Are you hearing audio from every file in your project except this file or are you getting no sound from any video or audio clip in your movie? It makes a huge difference!

no sound on any clips.  No sound on previous projects which all used to have sound

Make sure Default Input in the Audio Hardware in the Preferences is set to No Input.

Convert the mp3 files to wav files before importing into Premiere Elements.

Adobe Audition or the free Audacity can do that.

Have you had an operating system update between working and not working?
