Premiere elements 15 does not pick up on any file at all

Hello.

this has happened before but a re install sorted it. this time it hasn't. The problem is this. when I open elements to edit video from a go pro black it won't pick any of those films up. it doesn't register any vid file at all. mp3, mp4. nothing. even stuff created on the system its self. just nothing.
