Premiere Elements 2020 continues to freeze up

Premiere Elements 2020 continues to freeze up.  I can even walk away from the computer and return in an hour and it is still frozen.  I have had to reboot my machine three times on this one project in order to unfreeze it and every time I loose what I have done.

When it is working it is very very slow to respond most of the time.

I have wasted hours today trying to get one simple video done.
