Question

Premiere Elements 2020 Problem creating ISO file.

I can not create an ISO file from a Premiere Elements 2020 project.  The project consists of approx. 1 hr 20 min of video.  I have constructed a variety of projects - i.e. one consisting of 1280x720 MP4 files, one consisting of 720x480 mpg files; specifying DL output and specifying SL output; etc.  I am attempting to produce the ISO on Windows 11, 8GB memory -  457 GB internal SSD (156 GB free) + 1TB external drive (332 GB free) with no other apps running.  The executions abend with either a transcoding error or “freeze”.  I can produce an MP4 file from the project.

Windows 11, version 26H2.  Premiere Elements 2020 with all updates applied.

I would say remove and reinstall, but on 9-6-26 Steve Grisetti mentioned no longer being able to activate v2021 so trying to reinstall could mean losing the program

I don’t have any other ideas

I did not save a link, so I’m not 100% sure that my memory is correct… I **think** I’ve read that it is possible to reinstall over the existing program without DE-activating, so the activation remains but the program is ‘refreshed’ by the ‘over the top’ reinstall

I have Win11 and PreEl v2021.4 (4 updates) and have no problems creating an ISO

What happens if you create the MP4 and then create a new project with that MP4 and try to make an ISO?

That was another attempt that I did not include in my initial post.  When I try to create an ISO from a project that includes a single 1280x720 MP4 file (created successfully in another project), I get the same result - transcoding error or PRE “freezes”.
