Premiere Elements 2020 trail version - no audio in Mac

Hi there,

 

I am trying Premiere Elements 2020 in a trail version to see if this is the software I would like to use to convert my VOB files to MP4, so I can use it in iMovie. However when I import the files, I do not get audio. I checked the file with another program, and I had audio there (so the file is OK). 

 

Anyone familiar with this? Maybe it is because it is a trail version?

Premiere Elements is a "non linear editor" (NLE).  It is not a converter and is picky about source footage.  The intention is to edit video shot with consumer cameras and it doesn't.   You may have to use something else to "convert" the VOB files. 

 

Before you do, try looking at the Audio Hardware settings in Edit > Preferences.  Change them to something other than what they are.  It may work!
