Hi,

I just installed Premiere Elements 2021 on my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, which is listed as compatible, and it is not detected properly. Can you please advise?

Thanks

Max

Hi,

I saw the image attached by you. Your machine has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with Max-Q design but as of now PRE supports NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

I have the same problem with my MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB Card, all drivers are up to date.

Additional confusion comes about what the GPU does and does not do for Premiere Elements.  My understanding is that the supported GPUs only come into play for real time editing previews.  It does not come in to play for accelerating output rendering.   Computers with GPUs tend to be relatively strong to start with, so timeling previews usually are not an issue for most users.   The exception might be only where a user has built a thorouhly complex project.

Hi Gaurav,

Thank you for explanation. Perhaps Adobe should inform customers of exceptions to standard NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti line, because people are buying this software based on generic compatibility guidance, where it is not mentioned that some varieties of this GPU are not supported.

This is all the more confusing because Adobe lists the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti as among its supported devices with no indication of not supporting the MaxQ version!

Go to https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ , download the tool and ensure you have the latest drivers for your GeForce card. (Most recent drivers for this card are only about a week old.) Then relaunch Premiere Elements.

I don't know why that's not working for you, Max. It might be worth chatting with Customer Care.
