Premiere Elements 2021: Starts slowly, video playback is jerky and shows disturbances

I use the current Win 10 version (all updates) and PrE 2021 (also current updates).

As a computer I use a Lenovo notebook with an Intel I7 1165G7, 16 GB and faster SSD (2TB)

4k videos (without PrE) are played smoothly and smoothly without noticeably loading the CPU.

1. It often takes PrE 15-20 seconds to start; but sometimes up to a minute.

2. 4K videos are usually displayed very jerkily - more like a slide show.

3. But worst of all are the disturbances that PrE builds into the videos.
This probably happens when using the codec function of the Intel Iris XE graphics.

I tried the driver version 27.20.100.9168 and the beta 27.20.100.9313.

In both cases I have disturbances in the picture (which of course are not in the original).
If I don't use the Iris XE and have it created by the CPU, the results are error-free - but it takes an infinite amount of time.

So there seems to be a conflict between PrE and the Intel driver.

How can I actually report such a bug to Adobe.
Is there any support that can be reached privately?

I have a similar Lenevo laptop.

On my computer, it is normal for PrE to take 15-20 seconds to start.  If it takes a minute, I would guess there is something going on with your computer's drive or memory.

4K videos from common Pansonic cameras display well on my computer.  I have to guess that you have some settings wrong in preferences, your source video is not common video footage, your project settings don't match your source or that there is a hardware failure somewhere.

Hi Bill,

do you also have an Intel CPU from the 11th generation?

The Videos are made with my dji drone.

I had no problems with these videos with my old notebook and PrE 2020.

Also - all the Videos have no problems with normal playback without PrE.

And as i wrote: If i deactivate the Intel Iris XE Graphics, the videos with PrE 2021 are ok.

Hi @Ulli_T.

From the images you shared. I can see some pixel issue at the top right corner (Let me know if that is not the issue). It seems you facing this issue: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/gpu-troubleshoot.html#IssuePinkandgreenpixelsappearonmediafiles

This issue generally happens because of driver version incompatibility with PRE.

You can try some older driver versions of your graphic card. Steps to download and install the drivers for GPU is given on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/gpu-troubleshoot.html#update

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks, Gaurav
