Premiere Elements 2022 Keeps freezing while exporting videos

Hello everyone,

As the title states, Elements 2022 keeps freezing while exporting videos. The Export and share screen still comes up, and the "Estimated Time" ticker continues to count down, but little to no progress is made for hours. Upon cancelling the export, the program finally greys out and displays the "not responding" error, then shortly, the microsoft reporting message. I am not convinced  that the file size is the issue because in Elements 2021, I was able to successfully export some pretty big files (In excess of 2.5gb). Elements 2022 should be able to handle this without a problem.

I have just upgraded from Elements 2021 to Elements 2022. Elements 2021 "doesn't work" when I select the file I wish to edit. 2022 simply freezes. I am not sure the issue is my computer specs because this issue is rather recent and I've only noticed any issues after installing  Elements 2022.

Computer specs below:

I have the same problem, I have purchased Priemiere Elements 23 on a brand new laptop and I can never export a movie. I am very upset and need to get my work done but it seems impossible. Where is Adobe to fix this issue!

As with any other video editing program there are various settings and configurations that can cause problems.  In other words, you problem is likely to be different.  Sorting it out here can take some work sharing information about your files, your computer and various preference settings.

Another choice is to make direct, online contact with Adobe techs.  They can remotely takeover your computer is usually solve the problem.   https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen

If your copy of Premiere Elements is brand new and you bought it from Adobe, your last choice is to get a refund.  You have 30 days for that.

I did a couple of things that seem to have fixed the problem:

1- From the top menu, go to EDIT / PREFERENCES / MEDIA

2- Click on CLEAR CACHE under Media Cache Management

It seems to be working now.  I'm using version 2022

I'm using 2023 and was having the same problem. 16-min video, 2gb mp4 1080 output. Had output succesfully, then (after archiving the project and making only tiny edits) original project (not archive) would not output anymore. Error msg "internal error, make sure you have sufficient disc (sic) space." eddmtl's solution worked for me.

I have exactly the same issue and I'm using the best machine possible for video editing.  This is becoming very frustrating.  I hope there is a solution for this.

Hi: I'm suffering from the same issue, adding that I tried all export options available and none worked. This is my first projecyt in version 2022 and has been created in this version form the beginning.

My PC has 32Gigs of RAM and plenty of disk space (8TB disk drive for file saving + a 1T  NVME for Windows OS.

I used to run version 2018 without issues before (which I uninstalled before installing 2022).

Please help me resolve the issue as I need to deliver this content asap.

Thanks / JLB.

From what you write, it sounds like you opened a project started in 2021 with your new 2022.  Projects from one version may not be usable in another version.  Compatibility between versions is not promised as features and tools change.   If you've opened the same project in multiple versions, you may have corrupted the project.   Look for a backup copy of the project, make a copy of that and try to use it.

What are the hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

1 Samsung SSD 980 PRO 500gb NVME

1 Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2tb

NVME  contains the OS, and all programs like Adobe, MSFT Office, games, etc, etc. as well as some files.

The SSD is a 2tb and contains files only. This SSD is also the drive I have set as the default export location for videos from Permiere Elements.
