Premiere Elements 2022 on Mac Catalina

I am currently using Photoshop Elements 2019 on an iMac (Late 2015, with a 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor) running on Mojave OS (10.14.5). I plan to upgrade the OS to Catalina (10.15). I would like to upgrade Photoshop Elements 2022 and am also considering adding Premiere Elements 2022. Will these programs run on my Mac with Catalina as the operating system? Assuming that I can run these on my Mac under Catalina, I have a couple of other questions:

1. I currently use iMovie for video editing. Can videos produced in iMovie be imported into Premiere Elements and can all the special effects in Premiere Elements (e.g. automated editing, guided edits, etc.) be applied and then exported back into iMovie?

The i5 CPU may struggle with Premiere Elements.  A lot depends on the complexity of the source footage.    The current version of Premiere Elements does run on Macs with Catalina.

iMovie and Premiere Elements are not linked in any way.  You can't pass a project from one to the other.  You could work a clip in one to an output video and than import that into the other software.

After you upgrade to Catalina, be sure to try out the free Premiere Elements trial.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am not savvy enough to know what is considered a “complex” source video. All of my videos are relatively straight-forward home videos. You say that the i5 CPU may struggle with Premiere Elements. Does that mean that it may render, etc. more slowly? I suppose the best way to test it is to try the trial version once I upgrade to Catalina as you have suggested.
Again, thanks for your response.
