Premiere Elements Freezes When Opening Specific Project

I have a project under construction in Premeiere Elements 2022. I have been working this project for two weeks and I have other projects I am working on in the program.

But the one I am trying to complete will not open up and it then locks up and the only way out is task manager. This has occured only in the past three days. Up until then, the project opened just fine. I have added no content expect for the content added at the start of the project. I have only been editing clips and adding transitions between clips since then.

Two strange things going on. 1.) The project has opened randomly only after numerous attempts.

2.) The three other projects I am working open just fine.

Any advice? Thanks!

Is the media used for the projects the same?

Are the same transitions used as in other projects?

Media is the same. JPEG images from the same cameras, similar music tracks and simple titles created.

Two things I must add. My hard drive is close to full. The music track added to the problem project may have been added just prior to the problem I am having.

Easy task to remove the music and see what happens but I have to be able to open first.

All other projects open and edit just fine.

Premiere Elements, like all video editors, needs a lot of temporary "scratch disk" space.

Premiere Elements automatically saves a series of project backups. Have you tried to open one of them?
