Question

Premiere Elements is no longer yours for life

Ultimately, it seems that Adobe is trying to standardize its business model so that all its users are subscribers, regardless of whether they’re Hollywood editors or just someone who wants to add nice titles and effects to their 1080p videos.

In Premiere Pro, the subscription is just another corporate expense, inherent to the company’s operations. In the consumer version of the program, that expense may be harder for the user to justify..

Sorry, my final verdict on this change in Adobe’s policy is clearly a thumbs-down.

It was never yours for life.

Software is supported for a limited of time.

Adobe will eventually take down the activation servers.

And they have done so in the past.

    So do other software companies.

Or software is too old for new operating systems

Not defending Adobe but that is just how it works.

Many users are unhappy with the three-year license plan. Thanks for sharing.
