Premiere Elements Video Editor stops playing after a second or two

Hi there:

I purchased and had used the Video Editor program in 2023 Premiere Elements for several projects with zero issues. Then today, it won't play a new project I was working on or a previous project. I click the play button or use the space bar and a second or two larer, it stops. Nothing changed since the last time I used it (OS, settings, etc) and I did the suggested things (cleaned out the cache, etc). Nothing works. It's a shame, it worked well for what I needed. Any other ideas out there?

Much appreciated!

In order to try helping,   a lot more information about both your computer and video files is needed.

This can be awkward on a forum.  The software didn't suddenly change.  Something on your computer changed.  It may be a Windows update or you drive is getting full.   Typically, the place to start is to offer details about the source footage and the project settings.  Are there any error messages?

    Thanks!

When I import an mp3 for the music bed of the video and drag it onto the project workspace, it says: CLIP Mismatch Detected and when I click on the Change Project Settings, it still stops/glitches. When I manually go into the Project Settings, I am unable to change the Sample Rate (48000 Hz), I can only change the Display Format between Auto Samples and Milliseconds, which doesn't help.

If I go I to the properties of the mp3 I want to use, the source audio format is 44100 Hz-Compressed-Stereo and the project audio format is 44100 Hz-32 bit floating point-stereo.

I don't think the problem is the settings/preferences (although I could be wrong). It feels like the Adobe Premiere Elements 2023 and the computer are no longer in sync. According to the C Drive storage, I have 155 GB available our of 952 GB and 16 GB of RAM on the PC. I am up to date on Windows updates.

I'm wondering if I'll have to Uninstall the Adobe Premiere Elements 2023 and then reinstall it. A corrupted driver or other part of the app?

Where is the MP3 coming from?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
