Project Won't Open in Adobe Premier Elements 15, Only through PC

Why won't my .prel project open in PE 5?  It has plenty of times, but all of a sudden it will only open through my pc path, not directly from PE15. 

I get:

  • "loading project" - then goes to 100% and just spins
  • When I choose "cancel" I get "load project not responding" - then I close that and get
  • "Program Not Responding"

If I open from my pc using Adobe I can still edit, etc. 

Any help would be appreciated!

    I can only open mine once when I first turn on my computer. When it freezes up I have to shut it down. Once I try to open it again it won't work. The only bandaid of a fix I found was to restart the whole computer again. Anyone else got a better one I'm so down to hear it. I've read so many articles on this problem and no fix. I'm thinking it's just a bug and no one bothered to fix it because it's outdated software.

    Open from PC (which works)

    Then save the project to a different name.

    Now it might open with Elements.
