Question about GTX 1650
On the Adobe site https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/gpu-acceleration.html I found a list of graphics cards for PRE2022 and earlier versions including the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650.
I work with PRE 2020 on a Windows 10 (64) PC , with Intel I7 3770K @ 3.5 GHz, 4 cores and with 16 Gb of memory.
After exchanging my old graphics card AMD HD5700 series, memory 1 Gb (not supported by PRE2020) by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 4 Gb memory, I had the same media clip of approx. 2.7 Gb re-exported in 4K quality (original also in 4K quality) with the same settings as when using the old video card.
However, I don't see a notification under Preferences-> General or Project Settings-> General in PRE 2020 that it's now applying hardware acceleration or using my GPU intensively.
While exporting the clip, the CPU is still under almost 100% load for 15 minutes for this 3.5-minute clip. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 was only used for about 7% during export (info Task Manager Performance_GPU).
When I cut part of the clip on the timeline and I start playing the clip again, the image is choppy. The CPU load is high. If I pause playback until the CPU load has become (after about 10 seconds) low and then play the clip again, the clip plays smoothly again.
I assumed that a card supported by PRE2020 would provide a noticeable improvement in the use of this video editor. Or do I still need to change a setting somewhere?
