In 2000-2005 I used to edit home videos. I took a course in college for basic functions and I was able to do everything I needed to. Its now 2020 and I am just getting back into the swing of things.

I'm looking to record some gaming clips and make them into a short video. Is there a tutorial or guide that any of you recommend for a returning user? I see a lot out there but I don't know if there's one thats much better than another. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would not recommend Premiere Elements for editing gaming video or other video recorded on your computer. Most of the software used to create these videos saves the video with specs that do not edit well in Premiere Elements.

I'd recommend you use a program that records and edits the video. Camtasia is a great program that I use to record and edit my tutorials. In fact, that's hwat it's designed to do. Another option is CyberLink PowerDirector, a video editor which includes screen recording software with the program.

Thank you very much. Camtastic looks amazing but a tad pricy unfortunately.  Might give PowerDirector a shot to make sure I'm comfortable with the functions!
