reversing clip laggy

I am trying to edit 4k go pro footage, when I try to reverse the clip my computer cant render it and drops almost all the frames. I feel like my pc should be able to handle simply reversing the clip?

 

my computer:

Ryzen 3800x]

16gb ram

RTX 2080

You are right that it should work.  What are the specifications of the clip?  What are the project settings?  What version of Premiere Elements are you using?
