Rotation of jpeg based on exif metadata in premiere elements 2024

After my upgrade to premiere elements 2024, I noticed that when importing slideshow projects created in an earlier version (15) several jpg have not the correct orientation.

In earlier versions of premiere elements, there was a setting (Rotate JPEG using Orientation Metadata) which is not present in premiere elements 2024. I know I could rotate the files manually after importing, but this is a huge effort both to adjust existing projects and to create new ones.

Is the option still available (in another menu) or is there an easy workaround. If not, I feel this should be re-introduced as it is quite fundamental.

Thanks,

Mark

Update: problem seems to be only in importing project from earlier premiere version. When I insert a jpg, orientation seems correct

One of the many reasons we recommend never opening an older version project with a newer version of the program. Strange behavior like this is common when you do.
