Question

selecting components on the preview window of Premiere

I'm using Premiere Elements 2024 on Windows 11.

In the Premiere timeline, I have these overlapping tracks from bottom to top:

Track 1: video clip

Track 2: geometric shape (JPG file)

Track 3: line of text created with Premiere

I find it difficult to select the elements corresponding to tracks 2 and 3 in the Premiere preview window using the mouse.

How can I make the selection process smoother?

Did the suggestion by @Ann Bens work for you?

Highlight the clip in the timeline first: it will show a bounding box in the monitor

Grab the image with your mouse but stay inside the bounding box to move the image around

I don’t know of any way to select individual clips without the mouse.

I mean to use the mouse to select components shown on the preview window of Premiere Elements in order to move them to the desired location
