Variable Frame Rate video does not edit well... if your cell phone allows, set your recording to Constant Frame Rate

That would seem to be the issue however it's not an option on my galaxy 10e.
So I need to feed it through conversion software like Handbrake.
Thanks for your assistance.

I'm confused.  You wrote "of a Samsung mobile".  Do you mean video from a Samsung phone?  It should work.  What are the shooting settings on the phone.

As Bill is implying, Shake Reduction only works when your project settings perfectly match your video specs.

To show us your complete video specs, open your phone video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text of the report and paste it to this forum..

We'll show you how to match your project settings to these specs so that effect can work.

Hi Steve,

As I now understand it, that due to phones, micro cameras and tablets all using Variable Frame Rate to cope with lighting levels and storage economy, that VFR is the issue. In some cases the frame rate can radically shift up or down from 30fps. Shake reduction requires CFR. The answer therefore is to initially run the footage through an app such as Handbrake, which can handle batch input, that adapts the frame rate to 30 FPS. Then you upload it to Premiere Elements. That is the theory but I have not as yet had the opportunity to test it?
