Sound disappeared in Premiere Elements 2018 - headset

I have been editing in Elements for several weeks, and all working fine until a few days ago when I plugged in a new headset to record some narration within a different application. Now there is no sound coming out of Elements projcts unless the headset is plugged in.   I've edited the settings within Preferences-Audio Hardware to various combinations and nothing is helping.  I put the output onto the speakers, and no sound.  I put the output on headset, and sound comes out the headset.

Any tips?
