Sound track only loading

Hi could you help please, I have mp4 files some of which do not fully load into PE18 (Premier Elements 18), only the sound track loads, these files do play using the Windows default program, other files recorded at the same time and from the same folder work perfectly in PE18.

 

File size, around 3 GB.

Camera used, Drift Ghost S.

PC operating system, Windows 10.

Adobe program, Premier Elements 18.

    I don't know what a "Drift Ghost" is.  What are the file formats?

    The Drift Ghost appears to be an action cam. But it shoots in several formats, resolutions and frame rates, so John is going to have to get more specific about his particular clip. For instance, 848x480p is definitely not supported by Premiere Elements -- and neither is a 240fps frame rate. And is he shooting NTSC or PAL?

    Also, by Premiere Elements 18, I assume John means Premiere Elements 2018 (which is technically version 16).

      Steve thank you for your help.

      I think the question of frame rate and so on is probably irrelevant
      as some of the film files load ok and some don’t, these files were uploaded
      from the cameras SD card and were all taken consecutively and at the same
      settings, the camera automatically cut a continuous film into 20 minute clips,
      some load and some don’t.

      You are right the Drift Ghost S is an action camera, I am
      very pleased with it but I don’t tend to tinker with the settings they are as
      factory default.
