Text, Drop Shadow not saving my setting in PE2021

Why can't I get the Drop Shadow setting to save in Premiere Elements 2021? I click on the drop shadow box, set my angle, distance, softness and looks great. when I play it, its not there and when I return to those settings they are reset to zero. Is this a glitch? I'm using Windows 10.

Try selecting a Text Style that includes a drop shadow. You can them customize it by changing the font, etc., but the drop shadow will remain.

If you mean the "Style" selection I tried that too. It all looks good until I preview it and then the shadow disappears. Is there a setting I need to set? I'm still puzzled why when I select a setting (Angle, Distance and Softness) then come back to it they all zero out.
