The importer reported a generic error

Hi there, I have just started to use Premiere elements and I have fallen at the first fence! My very first video I have tried to import (MP4) and I keep getting "The importer reported a generic error" I am using a Mac. Not a good first impression really 🤔 🤔

 

Any guidance greatly appreciated! Thank you 🙂

What is the source of your video?

 

From a camera, and what brand/model and what are the camera settings?

OR

From a screen capture, and which capture program and what are the capture settings?

Thank you, work mac so can't download anything but Codecs are: AAC, H.264 🤔 🤔

With such a scarcity of information I have no idea what to suggest
