time code running too fast?

I noticed that my timecode was running too fast (about double speed). So, for instance, if I imported a 1 min long clip, it would show as 2 mins. I fiddled with the settings and changed it from 'drop frame' to 'non drop frame' and things work normally. The source material is 60 fps, and my project settings are 1440p @ 60fps, so everything matches.

Make sure Default Input in the Audio Hardware in the Preferences is set to No Input.

Thanks! I did try this, but it didn't seem to matter. I created a custom preset for 1440, and I wonder if something that's in there is causing this? I used an existing 4K preset for the baseline, then I edited it in notepad. Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't allow us to create custom presets for projects =( So, I had to do it the hard way.

Anyway, I think I'm good for now. If I just open the program and import my footage, it says it doesn't match the current project settings, and asks if I want to change them. If I say yes, it seems to set the project to the correct resolution. The time is correct (right under the video), but below that, it's now. I guess I can just ignore that, but it's kind of weird.

Playing around with this a bit more....the only solution that seems to work is changing to non-drop frame mode. Problem is, with every new project, it seems to default back to drop frame. Any way around this so I don't have to set it every time?? If I leave it on drop frame, clips show up as double the length of time. In the attachment, the 15-ish sec clip is showing up as 30-ish sec in the timeline.
