Trial Watermark will not go away despite purchase and troubleshooting

I got the trial version (Premiere Elements 2025), tried making some videos from still images and liked the functionality. I noticed the "This video was created on Premiere Elements free trial" banner and figured it would go away with purchase.

  • I bought the full version and got into my files and the watermark was still there.
  • I tried to delete the image and reload it
  • I tried reloaded the image in a new file
  • I deleted the rendered files for all projects and tried re-rendering the work area
  • I have gone to the preferences and clicked the button to clear the Media Cache
  • I also went to the directory folder on my computer and deleted the folder 'Adobe Premiere Elements Video Previews'
  • I tried using a fresh file with a completely different image I had never used before and the watermark appears on that and any other content I import into the timeline

Watermark persists for any new vieo or project I start. Much like a someone who posted a while back, every time I run the program, I get the prompt to buy the full version, even though I have already bought it.

I suppose I could wait out the 7days until the trial expires and hope that the banner disappears and that my purchase is recognized, but I bought this for work and have time sensitive projects to get started on. I purchased the program and just want it to work as intended - any help is appreciated.

As far as I know a Team plan has an administrator... have you asked your plan administrator if it is even possible for you to make your own purchase while using a Team plan?

Or, did you sign out of your Team plan so you could make your own account, and then use that account to make the purchase?

When you entered your purchased serial number did the program show it is activated?

This is the only information I have

Remove watermark https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/remove-trial-watermark.html

It didn't require a serial number. I believe you only need that for 2024 or older (though I could be wrong on that). I do not see a place to enter it or anything related to 'activation'. When I open the program, it prompts me to buy, if I click the link to buy, it will pull up the web page and the dialog box will change to:

'If you've made your purchase, get started now.

Premiere Elements 2025 will switch out of trial mode. If you haven’t bought it yet, you can buy Premiere Elements 2025 at Adobe.com at any time.'

Then I click the 'Get Started' button which takes me into the program as usual - watermark still persists.

So strange - Hoping to find a fix soon

You are correct a serial number is not required for PRE 2025. Try clicking on this link and sign into your products page.

https://account.adobe.com/products

Scroll to the bottom of the page and check that your three year license is showing. If your purchase is showing correctly launch PRE

Go to the menu and choose:

Help > Sign Out

Quit PRE and then re-launch and sign-in. Let us know if that helps.
