Using Multiple Text Titles Freezes the Application

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 13 on a Windows 10 (medium-to-high end) PC and once I add a certain number of text titles per session (usually 3 to 10 titles) the program sort of freezes on me. As in, I can move the slider, and save my progress (thankfully) but the video refuses to play, and the slider moving atop audio doesn't play said audio as I expect it to. This has been happening ever since I switched from 12 to 13, and I'd like at least a reason why this keeps happening.
