Question

Very low audio while editing

Hi,

I’ve noticed that when I go to edit a movie the audio is VERY low, to the point I can’t hear it. I increase the audio track to 15 db but then it distorts. When I check the audio of the source clip(s) it’s excellent, and when I do a export of the clip it sounds great.

It only happens while I am editing and I have a lot of audio triggers I can’t hear for editing.

I don’t remember it doing this in the past so now sure what’s going on with Premiere Elements 2025

Thoughts?

Bob

I can’t help, but someone may have an idea if you post details

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the program below
Free program to get file information for PC/Mac http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

    - a MediaInfo tutorial https://youtu.be/Ivy9ckSX1M0

    - when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view
    - post your information IN your message, not as an attachment that someone would have to download

It’s a simple MP4 file, works with great audio in every program But Elements. Even the export sounds great so it’s only when I am trying to edit it that I can barely hear it.

I just tested changing the output from headphones to speakers and the sound was fine. Not sure why the headset has issues, but at least I can get the video edited.

I only use speakers, so have no idea why headphones cause problems

I have read that Sound Driver http://www.asio4all.com/ sometimes helps
