Video beginning not imported

Hi,

I am new to Premiere Elements and encounter a problem. As I load a video into Premiere, it is missing the first 3/4 seconds of the video. When I play the video outside of Premiere, e.g. in Windows Mediaplayer, it shows the complete video including the first seconds.

How can I solve this?

Kind regards,

Jeroen

I have PrEl 2021.4 (2021 with updates) and I have never had any amount of video lost at the beginning or end of a clip

What is your exact version of PrElements?

Mac or Windows and exact version of operating system?

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the program below
Free program to get file information for PC/Mac http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
- a MediaInfo tutorial https://youtu.be/Ivy9ckSX1M0
- when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view
- post your information IN your message, not as an attachment that someone would have to download
.
Does your video use a Variable Frame Rate? See https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/Variable-frame-rate-video-with-Premiere-Pro/td-p/4601935
If yes, use https://handbrake.fr/ open source transcoder/converter to convert to Constant Frame Rate

In addition to John's questions, what is the source of the video?  Is it a camera?
