Hello,

I record a bunch of videos on my phone and when I upload them to adobe premiere elements the sound is always off by a few seconds. Whereas, in other programs the sound is in sync.

I have found the problem to be inherent in Adobe Premier Elements 2018, but that it has been resolved in Adobe Premier Elements 2019.  I tried 2018 with different hardware and had the same audio sync problems with video from both a Samsung android phone and an iPhone.  When I tried 2019 on the same hardware and same video clips, it fixed the problem.  I am currently using the trial version of 2019 since I obtained no value from the 2018 version, and feel that 2019 is basically a fix for the program that I purchased already.

Premier Elements is upgraded annually in the Fall, always with a few new features.  This year an additional feature was improved editing of variable frame rate video.  It is not a "fix", it is a new feature.

Depending on the length of time you've owned 2018, you may be able to get a refund from Adobe customer support so that you can buy the 2019 version.

As you can see, the video uses Variable Frame Rate, which is what leads to the out of sync issue.

Running video through HandBrake, as we suggested above, will fix the problem.

You don't say what kind of phone you're using, but iPhones are notorious for using variable frame rates.

I'm using android, how can I check if the video is using variable or constant? I uploaded it into handbrake and it told me it was a constant frame rate
