Why does premiere elements 2022 Not recognize a 2.73 GB clip I put in the timeline? Is the clip to big? If I add text to that clip, the text is only recognized. Help.

>Codec ID : isom (isom/iso2/avc1/mp41)

I have never seen "isom" before, so see if https://handbrake.fr/ open source transcoder/converter will make a file you can edit

Thank you very much. I have been very frustrated with this problem. I first edited this video in Shotcut. Then converted it to an MP4. I will try handbrake.

So far, I can't figure out why your video has such an odd codec being used.   Where did the video come from?  If it came from Shotcut, what output choices did you make?

The clip is not too big.  I do that regularly.  What is the clip structure and specifications?  Where did it come from?

Premiere Elements rarely has trouble with common H.264 codec files in MP4 containers of any size.  Specialty footage from certain cell phones and action cameras using odd codecs or high frame rates may take some extra work.

Per Bill, open the video clip in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the complete report of the video specs and paste it to this forum. With this detailed information we'll better be able to help you.
