Write Metadata to File

Hello, Sorry if this has been asked and answered previously but I cannot find the answer. I am not a power user.

Could someone please comfirm that in Premiere Elements 11 when you added a caption or tag it would automatically write this info into the metadata (IPTC) and save to the actual .jpg file...and that now in Elements 2021 this must be done manually via the "Write metadata to file" Ctrl+W command?

Either I missing something or they removed this capability somewhere betwen Version 11 and 2021.

thanks in advance

Rather than try to rewrite what has been well written in the Photoshop Elements forum, here is a link:  https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements/saving-metadata-changes-to-the-file-system/m-p/9988753

Thanks Bill, I did find that earlier.

My old Elements Organizer 11 did in fact save the captions automatically to the file. Somewhere between now and then this has been changed so that now it is an extra step each and every time you add a caption to a photo. I still can't grasp the logic of it but do accept that that is the way it is.

From my point of view, when updated from Elements (Organizer) 11 to 2021, there hasn't been a lot of improvements in the past 10 years and I've actually lost a usefull function that I used to have.

thanks again,

I don't know of such a command in Premiere Elements.  Are you asking about Photoshop Elements or the Organizer?

Well, it's the Organizer part of Premiere Elements. It's located under the File drop-down menu.
