Wrong imported video-clip resolution in Premiere Elements Project

Hi all, I have some 1920x1080 video clips which I captured via Microsoft Game DVR. When I import them then premeire elements says they are 2560x1440 and the image is zoomed out with this green abomination at the bottum, etc. (see attached screenshot). I had the game resolution set to 2560x1440 when I was playing, but my Microsoft Game DVR is set to record at 1920x1080 and it does. When I view the recorded video file in Microsoft's Images program it looks fine. This issue deosn't happen with clips since I started using Nvidia Geforce Shadowplay to record. Is there a way I can fix this 'import resolution bug' in Premeire Elements besides having to zoom in all of my clips?

Well, you've got a video using an mp42 codec and an extremely variable frame rate.

 

I would recommend converting it to a standard MP4 using the free download Handbrake. Most likely this converted video won't have any problems in Premiere Elements.

Can you check the file properties on MediaInfo software and share a screenshot? And would be helpful if you can share a sample file as well. That will help us isolate the issue.

As Anubhavjain says, open your captured video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the entire text in this report and paste it to this forum.

 

You have a very non-traditional source video here. But once we see its complete specs we may be able to recommend a solution.
