Question

Adobe charges for codecs, that is nuts

Adobe is cheap. No even attempts to address community concerns. Charging for codecs so customers can process cell phone video is beyond of understanding. Any free tool supports HVEC. Any free tool has basic stabilisation filter. Needless to say, Rush app should be called Crash.

Hi @Vitaliy308397969hcf,

I got your note. Can you let us know what problem you are having? What kind of subscription do you have? If you have a Starter Version (Free) version of Rush, HEVC is not supported. Sorry about that.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have photography subscription that does not include video tools, so using free Premiere Rush. That is very odd, I can play video on my computer and convert it using any other free tool, including your online service convert to mp4. I'd like to stick to adobe products, but if I have to have other set of tool to do basic operations there is no point even to keep my photography subscription.

Hi @Vitaliy308397969hcf,

Sorry about the problems. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do in your situation.

From a user's perspective and using the free version, you could either stop shooting HEVC or transcode the footage.

  • In the iPhone, you just switch to the "Most Compatible" mode and you shoot H.264 instead. That may work for you.
  • Otherwise, transcode to H.264 or ProRes LT.
    • Use Media Encoder, if possible.
    • If Media Encoder can't do it, or if you had no access to it, I like to use Shutter Encoder (free download) to transcode footage .

I hope the advice helps.

Thanks,
Kevin
