Adobe Rush Desktop crashing on import of all media including tutorial media

Ive been trying desperatly to get Adobe Rush to work on desktop to no joy. Everytime I try in import media files other than audio files, it hangs on preparing media. My system is running the latest system drivers for CPU and GPU and all windows 10 home edition updates are installed.

 

I have performed all tricks sugested such as clearing and resetting the preferences by holding ALT on loading of rush, as well as holding CTRL ALT & SHIFT to reset pluggins. I have tried alternating between the built in GPU and the dedicated GPU, no difference at all. 

 

My system specs are as follows:

  • Asus Zenbook Duo
  • Wndows 10 Home edition 64 Bit
  • Intel 10th gen i7 - 10510U CPU @ 1.80GHZ 2.30GHZ
  • 16GB of RAM installed with 15.8GB usbable.
  • Nvidia GeForce MX250 dedicated graphics. 

 

All other CC apps appear to run as expected such as Premiere pro and Photoshop, however Rush is at a scretching hault from allowing me to work with it.

 

Any thoughts on how to get it working would be most appreciated!

Problem resolved. After doing some digging arround, it looks like the problem was being caused by the ExporterMPEG4.prm plugin. I also have Premiere Elements 2020 installed, which uses the same plugin. When checking the plugins for differences, I found the copy installed with PE2020 was larger than Rush's version. So I copied and replaced Rush's version of the plugin and reset the plugin cache and hey presto its now working fine.

What are the media files that are choking the program and what device created the video? Are these media files on your hard drive or in the cloud?

 

Does the program choke if, say, you add two or three photos rather than a video file?

So I have tried importing video files created from my phone which are saved localy on the hard drive, but also the three initial video clips supplied with rush for the tutorial also cause the crash. Jpeg wise it loads them no problem. But like i say as soon as I touch the sample files or any video created on my iPhone using the stock camera app from Apple it runs into this wall.
