Question

Can’t import files into Rush

I have a Gen4 iPad Pro with the mk2 chip and am trying to use Premiere Rush to do first drafts of videos while away from my main computer. However, no matter what I do I keep getting a media import error - unsupported media type message every time I try to create a project. I shoot with a Sony a7iv and dji drones. I have tried importing log files and normal files but get the same message. I want to use Rush so I can then continue editing in Premiere Pro but if there is no easy fix I may have to switch to DaVinci resolve (not my preferred option).

Hi Peter,

Sorry about this issue. See if anything mentioned in this thread may help.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin

My only takeaway from that thread is the IPad Rush encoder can't handle anything other than footage shot on iPhone or iPad. If that is the case it is of no use to me.

Is this something that may be improved in future? If not I may have to look at a different video editing solution.

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,

It seems like these formats should be working on your iPad unless you are shooting with advanced settings. For example, Rush might not comprehend LOG footage. Rush is not really capable of handling such formats like Premiere Pro can. If these are simple video files, you may want to work one-on-one with assisted support in resolving this issue. Click the chat pod in the lower right here and ask for the "video queue." I hope the advice helps.

Thanks,
Kevin
