I can't upload any videos recorded with my new iPhone 16 Pro.

It says that you don't support this type of file??

Hi,

Turn off "spatial audio" in camera settings. Let us know if that worked, OK?

Thanks,
Kevin

Turning off Spatial Audio is not retroactive. My already recorded video content cannot be edited. Update the app for compatibility and save yourself from copying and pasting this same response indefinitely. It's an app issue.

Hey there, @Blwfcy,

I hear you on the frustration. I am only the mod here and this is a user-to-user forum. I can't update the app as I am not a dev. I'm in support, not on the Rush team. The team is very aware of the issue, as I have reported the issue to them already. I am sorry about your current footage. That issue needs to be addressed, and I hope I can help you with that.

You can try some possible workarounds.

  1. You may want to check out Project Violet, our new mobile video editing app in beta on the app store. I believe it supports your footage containing spatial audio. It's free of charge to try. New features are constantly being added.
  2. Use Adobe Media Encoder or download an FFMPEG-based open source encoder, like Shutter Encoder, and convert the footage to HEVC, H.264, or even better, ProRes LT. This transcoded footage would work fine in Rush.

Many editors transcode footage for a better editing experience (smoother scrubbing, faster exporting, etc.) and to work around similar issues, like VFR video, etc. I do this.

I apologize that this new format is not working in Rush. I hope the information helps you complete your projects. I will again report the issue to the team.

Thanks,
Kevin
